AMICI Dance Theatre Company and Improbable collaborated together for the full company production Stars Are Out Tonight to mark AMICI's 25th Anniversary in 2005. The pioneering and unique practice of AMICI together with Improbable’s amazing visual work explored themes of identity and society through original puppetry, masks, dance, theatre and music, Stars are Out Tonight was creative alchemy and an amazing experience. Devised by AMICI’s Wolfgang Stange & Improbable’s Julian Crouch & Lee Simpson and AMICI members, featuring masks designed by Julian Crouch.

Pius Hickey wins a trip into space. Little does he know that it is a well-conceived plot by the ruler of the Earth to rid the world of differently thinking people by banishing them to a distant planet. His journey becomes one of discovery as he brings his new found friends back to Earth to foil the ruler’s plan.

“I count my evenings spent watching the work of Amici among the most rewarding in a year's dance-viewing. To Amici and to Wolfgang Stange, all gratitude. There are charitable organisations, and financial enterprises that should respond to Stange’s noble mission with practical support.” Clement Crisp – Financial Times
